An unexpected light, Dune (like sand) has no clearly definable shape: it might be described as intriguingly amorphous. Enveloping wood veneer in glass, Dune is an innovative lighting concept created by Madrid-based Mayice Studio. The lamp is formed from a cylindrical glass vessel, with two symmetric ends and an irregular bulb-shaped centre. The glass surrounds a horizontal wood veneer tube, that houses the lamp’s LED light source. In Dune, the sculptural glass refracts light in a manner that captivates the eye, its amorphous form both appealing and rousing curiosity.
