Dominating a key position in the global race for fast-expanding luxury air travel and transfer points, the new “Midfield Terminal Complex” will process over 50 million travellers each year to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding Middle East capital.
The Midfield Terminal Building will be the largest in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and will be visible from more than 1.5km away. The amount of lamps that will be provided is one of the largest supplies in the last few decades for an illumination company in Italy and in Europe.
BUILDING KEY POINTS:
• 30 MILLION PASSENGER per year, with a capacity of handling up to 8.500 passenger per hour
• 65 aircraft gates, 156 check-in counters and 48 self-service kiosks
• 28,000 square metres of Retail and Food & Beverage space
• 27 KILOMETERS long BAGGAGE HANDLING
• 700,000 square metres of internal space The central terminal space can easily fit 21 football fields
• Roof span of 319m at widest point (almost twice as wide as Heathrow Terminal 5 at 160 metres).Ceiling height is 52metres at the highest point
• MTB is the largest singular building ever to be rated globally by the estidama pearl building rating system and is now the highest rated airport terminal in the GCC.
Castaldi Lighting will provide over 55 product families of 80; Each product is tested according to strict procedures:
• Ambient temperature: (25°C for interiors; 60°C for exterior)
• produce a photometry that respects photometric curve and lumen output required
• all photometry must be certified by an independent organization high efficiency, up to 120 lm/Watt
• certified with test report (EMC test, LM-79-08, LM-80-08, IESNA TM-21-11).
