PROJECT DETAILS
THE ADANI GROUP IS ONE OF INDIA’S LARGEST COMMODITY TRADING BUSINESSES WITH INTERESTS SPANNING ENERGY, RESOURCES, LOGISTICS, AGRIBUSINESS, REAL ESTATE, FINANCIAL SERVICES, DEFENCE, AND AEROSPACE. THE COMPANY’S CORPORATE OFFICE, CALLED ADANI CORPORATE HOUSE, IS IN AHMEDABAD. PRECIOSA CREATED A NUMBER OF FASCINATING LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING, WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH DESIGNPHASE DBA, SINGAPORE.
One of the most fascinating installations is a lit outdoor sculpture. The floral shaped sculpture was partially inspired by the flowing Indian sari. The piece is crafted from fused glass with chips in clear, red, amber, green, and purple glass and has dimensions spanning 2.75 x 4.5 x 2.25 metres. The sculpture’s glass parts were made in the largest possible size and the assembly was very demanding as it was a combination of several dozen different shapes. This sculpture is a joint design by Preciosa designer Radek Fiala in collaboration with Designphase dba studio owner and senior designer Derek MacKenzie.
Back inside, employees experience four notable Preciosa installations. The ground floor lobby has a stellar installation designed by Mr. Fiala. It is 12.5 x 7.15 metres in size and is a constellation of glass semicircles. Slumped glass and polished stainless steel are the only components used, making it a light and airy piece of art.
More of Mr. Fiala’s work can be found in the executive lobby. This 19 x 3 x 4.8 metre installation creates a gorgeous glowing flow through the space. It too uses simple elements: hand-blown glass and polished stainless steel. The installation Mr. Fiala designed in the chairman lift lobby has a polished stainless steel base with rock stones in such colours as black, red, burgundy, yellow, amber, crystal and clear hanging from thin wires. Rock stone trimmings are moulded in the glass works using forms.
In the executive dining foyer located on the fifth level another lighting installation can be found. Clear glass with bubbles was crafted into rings and assembled in a unique way that brings not only light and beauty but centres a seating area in the large space.
