PROJECT DETAILS
Glasgow's largest smart building and the biggest sales of a commercial building in Scotland and the 3rd in the UK outside of London, 177 Bothwell street is the perfect showcase of integrating light into architecture and the ability for the user to easily adapt the light to make the space work for the occupiers needs.
The distinctive running track on the roof, spanning 177 m in circumference, is framed by a halo of light provided by 162 m of XOOLUM™ IP67. A 65° beam angle was carefully selected to ensure the entire track was covered, while avoiding any light-spill disrupting both the neighbours and the night sky. The illumination is controlled via Organic Response Portal and a photocell. The roof has 24 hours access and has to be safely illuminated at all times, automatically programmed to be active from dusk to dawn. Within the roof‘s plantroom, the occupier can select multiple scenes, to change the ambience of the space according to the activity being undertaken.
