From Germany and for over 30 years, G DATA Software AG has provided security support to the digital world. As of 1987, the IT pioneer from Bochum had already developed an anti-virus program. The spectacular head office situated on an old industrial estate is in every detail, fully focused on its core competency: an intelligent networking structure. The ingenious lighting system in the reception area, cafeteria and event hall which was co-designed with Insta, bears to this testimony.
The interior lighting within the three areas are there to reflect G DATA’s leading role – and of course harmonise with the multi-functional interior. This task was solved by Insta and the designated planning office by an open-designed and widely ramified grid of direct and indirect lighting where individual cells were interlinked with one another. The distinctive lighting in the foyer – a graceful and futuristic accentuated light comb form on the ceiling (LEDLUX RGBW ) and radiant light beams on the floor (1060) function as a visual statement and also gives visitors at the same time a clear ground-breaking key feature. The cafeteria which speaks the same language, comes across as being cosy and at the same time, hovers like a spaceship. In the event hall, cubic exterior luminaires can be separately dimmed and adjusted in colour temperature to provide for the necessary accent. The whole system works on the principle of Human Centric Lighting (HCL) and supports the natural human circadian rhythms. The control system allows for four scenarios: daylight, two dynamic party scenes as well as working light for cleaning and general service tasks.
