PROJECT DETAILS
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the primary international financial centre in the region of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, completed the Building 11 construction project inside the Gate Village called "The Exchange".
Built to provide services to the main financial hub of Dubai, The Exchange is a happy and intimate oasis in the luxurious city. Along with the numerous banks, financial institutions and offices, it was created to be a hub of ideas. In fact, it is a culturally vibrant and active community, thanks to the presence of art galleries, excellent restaurants and high calibre commercial establishments. Public green areas outline the entire perimeter of the square, providing relaxing moments of down time from the hustle and bustle of the city.
LIGHTING PROJECT OF THE DIFC BUILDING FAÇADE
Another Linea Light Group branded lighting project in Dubai In this case, the lighting of the façade was handled in such a way so as to make the building a point of reference in the financial district, thanks to the outstanding lighting design that skilfully enhances the modern and elegant architecture. The installation details and the specifications of the devices calibrated based on the nature of the building itself and the needs of the customer proved to be indispensable in order to make The Exchange a unique building.
Close coordination between architects, contractors and consultants was required to create the Linea Light Group branded lighting layout. Descriptive and not invasive, light was used in an indirect way, avoiding an increase of the already massive lighting pollution of the city. Three Archiline applications were employed, a linear profile characterised by high luminosity and flexibility for the outdoors. The first on the walkway opposite the entrance, the second at the top floor on the outdoor path, both with wall washer optics and colour temperature leaning slightly toward warm white. The third, in RGBW, is found on the transparent external lift to create a backlit effect.
On the main façade, delineating the external views, Xenia was positioned with 8-degree optics, chosen in order not to impair the internal function of the spaces with any light reverberation. The included light points are provided by Vedette, which provides even more aesthetic emphasis thanks to its blade optics. Moving along toward the usable outdoor spaces, Thin66 caresses the profiles of the residence section terraces, providing a restful and non-invasive warm white colour, thanks to a colour temperature of 3000K. On the large external terrace, a highly glamorous and elegant environment, countless Nicro units were positioned with blue LEDs, recreating a sort of celestial ceiling that can be walked on. On the seats, we find Archiline once again and, for a contrasting scenic effect, all the green located on the perimeter level of the terrace has been lit with 9W and 25W Gardener with antiglare. Completing the lighting are Admiral with blue LEDs and Vigilant in RGB version.
