PROJECT DETAILS
Wonderful shapes and textures respond so well to the lighting design in one of a series of guest houses
The Newt in Somerset is a reimagining of the 230-year-old Hadspen House estate into a luxury hospitality experience with public areas and gardens. The lighting design acts as the cohesive element that unites the many facilities of the project.
The hotel is centred in the main house with several historic ancillary buildings hosting additional guest rooms and suites. In the spa, hotel guests are offered unique, relaxing experiences. From the stunning pool with its many layered ambient effects to rear-lit halotherapy salt walls, indirectly lit hammam, sauna, steam, and treatment rooms, lighting design enhances the atmosphere of luxury.
In public areas, the threshing barn, with its soaring uplit wood-slatted ceiling, acts as a welcome centre and exhibition space. The cider press, shop, cider house, café & glasshouse all utilise similar lighting elements for continuity.
VarioLED™ IP67 with color temperatures of 2,200 K, 2,500 K and 2,700 K was used for the different areas.
As a conclusion of this – The wonderful shapes and textures respond so well to the lighting design in one of a series of guest houses.
