PROJECT DETAILS
In Breitenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, near Itzehoe, a nearly century-old listed building was transformed into the luxurious 4-star Hotel Breitenburg in 2021. In earlier times, the buildings were granaries and stables of the nearby Breitenburg Castle. The expansive old building now houses a lobby, restaurant and several function rooms. A spacious new building, which adjoins the rear part of the former stables, has 80 stylish rooms for hotel guests as well as a generous spa and wellness area.
With its special room proportions, the 5-meter-high ceiling and the wooden roof beams, the "Bredenbarg" salon in the gable of the building with adjacent gallery is a unique feature of the hotel. The warm grazing light on the rear wall was realized with XOOLINE™ IP40 and is reminiscent of a homey campfire atmosphere and creates a pleasant contrast to the fresh daylight in the front area.
Thanks to the generous glass windows, which can be partially opened completely in summer, the pool and spa area offer a magnificent view of nature, which guests can enjoy for a long time, even in the evening hours, thanks to carefully used, restrained lighting. To realize such lighting, the XOOLINE™ IP40 was installed as cove lighting in the back of the pool and spa area.
