PROJECT DETAILS

The Hotel Sofia in Barcelona, formerly known as Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia, opened in the 1970s and quickly became an exclusive place to stay. The striking building profile also became an integral part of the Spanish city's skyline. Today's Hotel Sofia is the result of an extensive renovation that spanned from October 2016 to early 2018. The aim of the renovation was to provide guests with an exceptional experience in terms of cuisine, design, attention to detail and technological development. The architectural and interior design project was carried out at Albert Blanch and Jaime Beriestain Studio, with Birgit Walter of BMLD responsible for the lighting design.
