Illuminating Luxury Outdoor Living in Downtown Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
Installed Products
Seraph Salt Lake City is a downtown high-rise community with stunning views of the Capitol State Building and the Wasatch Mountains. Complementing the private residences in the 25-story building is a wide range of luxury amenities, including upscale outdoor spaces on both the 7th and 25th floors. A selection of exterior luminaires by Luminis was selected to illuminate these stunning outdoor areas.
The 7th floor features a resort-style, heated outdoor pool and hot tub, along with a small area for grilling and dining. Residents enter the outdoor space from an expansive fitness center and lounge area, lined with floor-to-ceiling windows. The exterior walkway running parallel to this wall of windows is illuminated by six Scena SN805 surface-mount luminaires.
Each circular fixture features an attractive eyelid-style cover. Its shielded design provides full cut-off lighting distribution, making it Dark Sky-friendly while directing illumination precisely where it’s needed. By day, Scena's jet black finish blends seamlessly with the black wall facades on which it is mounted. By night, Scena welcomes residents with soft illumination that effectively lights the space yet is comfortable on the eyes.
Scena’s soft, elegant aesthetic belies its durability. Designed to stand up to the rigors of outdoor spaces, it features a tamper and impact-resistant glass lens and is rated IP65 for exterior wet locations.
Luminis’ unique Inline LN602 luminaires were selected to provide additional illumination on the patio. An 8-foot column is installed at each end of the aquatic area; each features two independently adjustable light modules aimed at the deck and the pool. The 30 flood optics create a focused yet soft-edge beam of light. Inline’s aesthetics contribute to the space's elegant tone and provide comfortable lighting.
The 25th-floor rooftop deck is a stunning L-shaped space offering a variety of seating options. Cozy chairs and sofas are arranged around fire pits, while café-style seating is positioned near the barbecue areas, creating inviting spots for gathering and dining. Scena SN805 luminaires are mounted along the structural walls of the 25th-floor rooftop deck, promoting a feeling of security as residents exit the building and reach the deck.
Attractive Inline LN601B bollards line the exterior perimeter of the deck. Each fixture features one light module with a Type III distribution to provide sufficient lateral spread that illuminates the adjacent seating areas. The deeply recessed lens directs the light downward to minimize uplight while enhancing comfort and glare control. And its jet black finish complements the rooftop accents and nearby furniture.
All luminaires on both floors were selected with a 2700K color temperature for comfortable, warm illumination.
By combining chic, welcoming lighting with upscale accessories, Seraph Salt Lake City has created refined outdoor spaces for its residents.
