PROJECT DETAILS
Kalix, one of the northernmost towns in Sweden near the border with Finland, is home to the Kalix Bridge, an important link on the Swedish E4 highway crossing the Kalix River.
The Municipality of Kalix has a strong connection with its surrounding environment, particularly the river. This has led to a design emphasis on creating a structure that is both subtle and captivating while minimizing its impact on the beautiful river landscape.
The lighting design not only enhances the bridge’s aesthetics but also provides a greater sense of security for the region. Careful consideration was given to adjusting light levels to minimize light pollution.
The stunning design of the bridge earned it the Exterior Lighting category award at the Swedish Lighting Awards.
In total, GVA shipped 20 FL™ 50 MONO Luminaires with Barn Door Kit.
