PROJECT DETAILS
La Samaritaine shines again
La Samaritaine, the legendary Art Déco department store reopens and Paris rediscovers one of its architectural masterpieces. Sixteen years after its closure, a landmark building of the French capital shines again, thanks to the refined restyling by the studio SANAA.
In the 1st arrondissement, on the right bank of the Seine, the majestic structure owned by the LVMH Group, includes in addition to the historic shopping center also the Maison Cheval Blanc Hotel, twelve exclusive restaurants, houses, offices, and a nursery.
La Samaritaine promotes the Parisian art de vivre in the world.
Thanks to the project by Lichtkompetenz light plays a leading role in such a full of charm and history place. Lighting has been conceived to enhance the elegance of the structure giving it warmth. The visitor is invited to experience an intimate shopping experience, characterized by the Parisian esprit. Armonia Bridge custom version was chosen because it offers a homogeneous lighting with very high color rendering, in an extremely slender body. The luminaire ensures a diffused ambient light that turns on the showcase and at the same time it highlights the details and colours of the products on display. The shiny chrome finish hides even more Armonia inside the glass cases, bringing out only the light. Many Tono fixtures enrich the steel structure of light. The designer chose this luminaire for the great balance between power and size, in an essential design. Finally, the Cometa Q8 linear system, with its extremely thin profile and high performance, is perfectly integrated in such a demanding context.
