Light helped this historic building become an open, modern workspace
The old post office is one of the most prestigious addresses in Copenhagen. Now, lighting from Louis Poulsen has helped to open up the iconic building and make it a living part of the city once again, as part of an extensive three-year renovation project carried out by Årstiderne Arkitekter.
For more than 200 hundred years the post office building has connected the city to the outside world, and with its new role as the home of travel comparison service Momondo, it continues to do so.
The architects have undertaken the renovation with great care and respect for the building’s historic character. The Louis Poulsen team took the time to understand the complex project, in order to respond to its demands.
More than 400 LP Circle recessed ceiling fittings have been installed, as well as around 200 Wohlert 400mm pendants, 200 Targetti CCT downlights, and dozens of AJ Eklipta wall lights.
The project also uses eight of Louis Poulsen’s 1480mm LP Grand pendants, which add a bold and dramatic element to the high-ceilinged spaces.
