PROJECT DETAILS
The “Mount Trashmore” facility, which was closed as an active landfill in 2013 has been transformed into a recreational destination with hiking and biking trails and scenic overlook.
Previously the Linn County Solid Waste Agency staff, who monitor the property for the safety of guests, were working out of a tent. This new permanent space is a remodeled recycling center which was already on site. This sustainable reutilization of the building allows more people to use the facility, restrooms, meeting rooms, and bike racks while being protected from the elements.
