PROJECT DETAILS
One Microsoft Place with its 34,000 square meters of floorspace, which is as big as four football pitches, boasts a mountain structure as the centerpiece of the imposing atrium. The wood carved mountain serves as a binding place for collaboration between various parts of the business, also literally leading into the meeting rooms.
125,000 individual LED lights form a virtual lake in the atrium's center. As well as metaphorically connecting art, science, and engineering.
The concept behind the design coming directly from its surroundings; The entrance being a harbor, social space, the beach, open workspaces, grasslands, while focus rooms are caves.
The predominantly informal work spaces play an inspirational aspect of the building, designed to meet both professional and lifestyle needs and so fostering collaboration. Where data scientists, AI bot builders, reality game developers, sales, and marketing work together.
There are 3000 seats spread over open floor-plan, with smaller private areas, paying special attention to the human-centric approach of their workflow. It's also a place where executives sit next to interns, and so offering every possibility for multi-approach on projects.
Each area is decorated differently, carving microambients also with the help of Intra lighting's luminaries Lona, Pipes, Kalis, and Gyon.
Not only One Microsoft has its own food court, their own blend of coffee, while some of their produce coming directly from its rooftop, for example, spices. Where there are also bee hives adding to the view ranging from Dublin Bay from one side to the mountains, with the Leopardstown Racecourse as its backyard.
Relaxing, socializing, and physical activity spaces, offer plenty of informal opportunity of hanging out but more so exchanging information and experiences as the company under one roof brings together more than 2,000 employees of more than 70 nationalities. It's a global community that feels local.
The impressive height of the building with many windows also brings in plenty of natural light, both from the side, as well as from the rooftop circular windows. But there is a whole new universe from the top ... While the content behind its walls also holds the future within the DreamSpace innovation and education hub.
