Bane NOR (Earlier Jernbaneverket) has built several “sykkelhotell”, in English: bicycle hotels. These are places where travellers can park their bikes, in a safe and well-lit environment.
This particular one is near the Oslo Central Station and ideal for commuters using the train, with a capacity of 160 bicycles. The project Sykkelhotell Oslo S won the Norwegian lighting award for best indoor project in 2018. Approximately 500 m of VarioLED Flex PHOBOS were installed as general lighting to illuminate the corridors brightly and to create a cosy atmosphere and sense of security.
