PROJECT DETAILS
Designed by GA Architecture and VLK Architects, the Thomas Manor Elementary School was a replacement of two underutilized and aging schools with a single new campus to serve 1,142 students in a state-of-the-art facility. The design concept is based on the idea of the flow of the neighboring Rio Grande River and the entire building is flexible, easily transforming learning spaces to meet the needs of teaching and learning. Illuminating a variety of spaces are our Atria 4 cylinders.
Flicker-free luminaires are a must in Academic projects
Having Flicker-Free technology is critical to this type of state-of-the-art academic building. It allows the camera to send and display a quality image for optimal learning. Both on site and off site learning were equally important goals at the Thomas Manor Elementary School.
Smooth dimming (SPV; Dims to 1%) brings added functionality to classrooms
Having smooth dimming down to 1% gives the ability to provide a low ambient light for note taking, while not interfering with the projection screen brightness. This keeps the focus on learning while in the classroom. The Thomas Manor Elementary School optimizes power density and controls to achieve optimum classroom lighting.
