PROJECT DETAILS
One of the world's most sustainable buildings
Daily research is done at Unilever Foods Innovation Center 'Hive', on how to provide the growing world population with food in a sustainable and nutritious way. That was also the goal of the building itself: it had to be built in a circular way of thinking. We were proud to be able to contribute to this project by delivering sustainable lighting solutions.
"For Unilever, the combination of accessibility for our partners and the highest sustainability criteria were crucial in the design of the building. We envisioned a building that was built with the most sustainable materials and would have the lowest possible impact on the environment in use. We are very proud of the recognition by BREEAM." John van der Draaij – Operations Manager
The building's total floor area is 40,850m², which includes underground car parking. Unilever's energy-neutral Foods Innovation Centre has won 2 global Outstanding BREEAM awards as one of the world's most sustainable buildings.
